Elements in Art
The elements in art are as follows, Line, Shape, Form, Colour, Texture, Space & Value. In this exercise I will be exploring each of these elements and adding examples, both my own and some that I have sourced from the internet.

Left you can see my own design using Line in different ways, This is quite abstract and there are Straight, Angled, Curved, Circular & freeform (organic). There are Geometric images in the design, Circle, Square & Zig-Zag.
The element of shape in art, Shape takes many forms Natural or Organic. Shape can be two dimensional 2D / Flat, or Geometric such as Square, Circle, Triangle, Ellipse, Hexagon are just a few. Organic (free form) shapes such as a leaf or any shape that you make that is not uniform (geometric). Shape in art is very important to give your work depth & individuality, Organic shapes can do this very well as no two are usually the same.
An element of art, value refers to the lightness or darkness of a color. Value becomes critical in a work which has no colors other than black, white, and a gray scale. For a great example of value in action, think of a black and white photograph such as the one below this is an iconic photo of Audery Hepburn. Below you can also see the sketch of the Bananas & the Image of the lion, both very striking images with lots of Value content. You can easily visualize how the infinite variations of gray suggest planes and textures.
In the design that I have done left there is lots of different shades of black & greyscale also this gives the art work depth.

Elements of form come in all shapes & sizes, Sphere's, Boxes, Cube's, Cones & Tubes to name a few. The elements of form have a 3D effect this is opposed to a shape which is flat. Form in art means the whole of a piece's visible elements. Form allows viewers to mentally capture the work, understand it and attempt to analyze it.
The element of colour in art, this refers to the wavelengths of light. Colours can be warm or cold. You also get Tint, Tone & Shade in colour, this along with Line can portray lots of different emotions, Shy, Angry, Dark & Light or even Hot & Cold. Colour can be Primary, Secondary, Complimentary & Neutral. Warm colours are Reds, Yellows and all shades between while Cold/Cool colours are Blues, Greens, Purple.
In the two examples above you will see that in one I have two peices of art & an abstract design that I created myself. While in the other I used two different colour wheels & an abstract image of a Lambanana, Which I created myself in Adobe illustrator then done free form criss cross lines to create a pattern that I coloured in.

I took the image of a Lambanana from the internet, enlarged it and made a vector outline image in adobe illustrator.
I then done some abstract lines to criss cross it and made different shapes. In each shape I used felt tips and added colour, this has brought it to life I think.
Above and Left are some sketches that I have done, the one above I don't think that I have got the plate of apples in perspective. I have not Drawn or coloured anything for many years, I think that these have been a good start to getting back into it.
An element of art, space refers to distances or areas around, between or within components of a piece. Space can be Positive (white or light) or Negative (black or dark), Open or Closed, Shallow or Deep, Two-Dimensional or Three-Dimensional. Perspective & depth also can create space in art work.Sometimes space isn't actually within a piece, but the illusion of it is. Below I have done two different types of perspective, which create space & depth in the art work in different ways. Also I have done a copy of an image to create depth.
Texture
This next element is texture, This is important in art because almost everything has a different texture. In this exercise I will be showing different ways to portray texture.
